California Bazaar

Reading The Chronicle is one of my guilty pleasures. I love local news (most of the time) and this week has been particularly interesting. Here is a mini Harper’s Bazaar-esque statistical break down of a few of the top stories…
- Amount of dollars spent on Yes on Prop 8 Campaign: $40 Million
- Amount of dollars spent on No on Prop 8 Campaign: $45 Million
- Amount Students enrolled in CA schools under 18 years old: 6.3 Million
- Class Size Increases in some CA counties: 12 Students (20-32)
- Amount of school funding (in dollars) being threatened by proposed CA budget cuts: 10 Billion
Statistics can be thought provoking and misleading, but apparently Californians are more concerned with regulating marriage than funding schools.
