Saturday I decided to plan and execute my first big San Francisco field trip of 2009 and, with some help from SF MUNI, I was able to map out a plan that would take me from Ocean Beach to Excelsior and back…

My first stop was at the Library. It really is the only place that you walk into, no questions asked, and a complete stranger will loan you something.
In my case it was A Farewell to Arms which I’m looking forward to reading.

Next up was the Legion of Honor, but first a refreshment from the Art Bistro on 33rd and Geary.

It looks as though the Health Inspector had recently stopped by but the Art Bistro was prepared. Check out that 100% perfect score. Nice!

Then I got on the bus going the wrong direction and accidentally ended up at the Beach. At first I was disappointed because I’m always getting lost but the Beach was nice and the air was crisp.
It was so bad after all.

This sign caught my attention. I sure hope a Tsunami doesn’t come. I don’t think I could surf it out.

I finally made it to The Legion of Honor just before closing. It such a nice place and today there was the added treat of live Organ Music.

The Lion at the Legion of Honor quietly surveys The City from afar.

Battling hunger pangs, I decided to head out to Excelsior to The Broken Record for some BBQ. I had never been there before but had heard about it at Mission Street Foods a couple weeks back.
Normally I’d post a bunch of pictures and rave about the food, but this cool graffiti from the men’s room is all you get…
I’m not going to tell you about the super nice bartender, or the selection of 150 whiskeys behind the bar, or the world class BBQ, or the delicious baked to order chocolate chip cookies that come out the oven all gooey and warm with a shot of milk.
Nope. I’m going to enjoy this spot a bit before it blows up.

My field trip ended at Club Six for the Big Up Magazine’s second issue release party. Dubstep downstairs and Dancehall up, it was hot. DJ Coopde’ville is always on point.

Daneekah was there too, spinning the late set.

DJ’ing isn’t all hard work. Daneekah and Coop enjoying themselves on a Saturday night.

Oh no somebody called Security (Vinny Ras) and now, sadly, the party must come to an end, and so ends the first San Francisco field trip of 2009.
